DECISIONES VALIENTES

La semana anterior me informaron que uno de los estudiantes del grupo donde trabajo decidió cancelar los estudios y empezar otra carrera el próximo ciclo escolar. Me sorprendió la noticia. Era un prospecto de buen pedagogo. Pero no me pasaron por la cabeza juicios negativos o pesimistas. Ni uno. La decisión no es fácil, pero debe revisarse con detenimiento.

No sé qué tan duro o adverso habrá sido el proceso; qué clase de objeciones habrá enfrentado en el hogar. Lo natural es el enojo, la amenaza de retirar el apoyo para seguir estudiando. Por mí parte, tengo claro que es mejor “perder” dos años que una vida, o más de cuatro años enrolado en una profesión indeseable, que se sufre, que se rechaza, o bien, lo que es peor, contagiando el malestar ya en el ejercicio profesional, especialmente en el oficio de educador.

Hoy vine a clase con el deseo de encontrarlo, pero ya no está más. Se fue y le reconozco la valentía y la determinación, el coraje de tomar decisiones cuando es preciso y no resignarse. Espero que en su casa tenga el cobijo suficiente para recomenzar la andadura universitaria.

Abandonar la escuela luego de un proceso decisorio como el que cuento, me parece un triunfo que habrán de confirmarlo los años. Ojalá así sea.

    *sometimes we don’t know what we want.
    *That kind of desicions are too hard because the parents can be angry with the student.
    *thats true, its better to take a decision and lose a cople years, that lose all your live in something that we don’t want or love.
    *To take a decision,have to be sure and thought about that.
