En un texto sobre las nuevas formas del periodismo on line encuentro una afirmación de Kapuściński: El trabajo del periodista no consiste en pisar cucarachas, sino en prender la luz para que la gente vea como corren a ocultarse.
Además de ingeniosa, certera.
La referencia del maestro de periodistas me resulta evocadora frente a la realidad que hoy dibujan (y desdibujan) las noticias en Colima. Explico y puntualizo.
Mis vías principales de información son los medios impresos en formato electrónico, los programas radiofónicos de la mañana y mediodía (fragmentos de dos o tres cada día) y las redes sociales. Desde hace algunas semanas uno de los temas principales es la deuda del gobierno del estado y el desastroso caos administrativo que revela. Creo que es EL tema. Y lo que nos cuentan todos los días, mañana, tarde y noche (en redes sociales), sustancialmente no ha cambiado. No sabemos hoy un poquito más que antes.
El periodismo mayoritario, y el tema es ejemplo rotundo, está basado en entrevistas a los personajes que lo provocaron o solaparon, en los que opinan del tema, en boletines y ruedas de prensa a modo. Este es un ejercicio extraño: no indaga en los hechos, sino en las opiniones, y opina sobre las opiniones.
Nadie hurgó en informes gubernamentales, en documentos técnicos, en los dictámenes previos que aprobaron las cuentas públicas.
Cuesta decirlo: nuestro periodismo, aunque a veces cuestione superficies, se estanca en el pasado más complaciente. Nadie todavía (salvo que se me escape la gran nota, el gran reportaje) ha encendido la luz.
