¿Y SI HACEMOS MENOS POBRES?

No soy asiduo a la televisión. Me falta tiempo y sobra tedio cuando me siento a mirarla. De lunes a viernes por la mañana apenas un lapso corto de noticias; el fin de semana, excedo mi cuota promedio con un par de horas de fútbol. Después, casi nada.

Al radio soy habitual en el auto. Hasta de lo que no me toca, o debiera escuchar, como los comerciales que el partido Verde (digo el Verde, porque hoy me tocaron) dirige únicamente a sus afiliados. Entre paréntesis, adviértase: ¡qué tremenda imbecilidad esa legislación! ¿Y cómo hacemos para no escuchar todos los que no simpatizamos? La televisión argentina tiene la decencia de informarte que vienen los anuncios comerciales; pues acá podrían decirnos lo mismo, y ya cada cual sabe si apaga o cambia la estación.

Con las escasas horas de televisión y otras cuantas de radio que escuché en las semanas recientes, deduzco que la campaña contra la pobreza va en serio. Por los menos en los medios.

¿Y si en vez de gastar millones y millones de publicidad en la lucha contra el hambre, se invirtieran en aminorar la pobreza real? ¿Nos daríamos cuenta que se combate, nos daríamos cuenta que disminuye?

Preguntas viejas, como la reflexión siguiente.

Esta mañana vi una entrevista en Canal Once. El entrevistado, director de Diconsa. Tema: las 27 mil (si no falla la memoria) tiendas que forman parte de la misma batalla; la red de tiendas más grandes del país, según se dice. También veo noticias sobre los programas enfocados al mismo fin, aquí y allá. Más programas y más dinero que nunca en la historia. Entonces, no puedo dejar de responder: porque nunca hubo tanta miseria y tantos pobres.

Y sigo inquieto: ¿solo con esos programas vamos a matar la pobreza o daremos apenas un coscorrón? Si las variables centrales de la economía, es decir, la aceitada maquinaria productora de pobreza no deja de funcionar en verano ni en invierno, no disminuirán los menesterosos. Sin buenos empleos, sin otras políticas laborales, sin otra distribución de la riqueza, sin una economía con rostro humano, no veo cómo eliminar el flagelo. Siendo así, ¿hay forma de ganar la guerra?

Pienso: no, la Cruz Roja no gana las batallas, solo atiende heridos, consuela, humaniza un poco. Pero no se trata solo de curar a los heridos; hay que parar la violencia productora de miseria.

Tal vez me falta sentarme horas y horas frente a la pantalla. Días enteros, semanas, para conmoverme con los comerciales fabricados para disparar al aparato de las emociones. Tal vez. Mientras, la miseria que no está en las pantallas me grita y hace girar el rostro a la realidad real.

Martes es mi día de clases. Cierro cerca de las ocho de la noche y preparo los materiales para mañana. La facultad está casi solitaria. Estoy cansado, pero decido caminar a casa. Un poco de ejercicio me haré bien esta noche fresca. Comienzo. Media hora tardo en llegar. Buen tiempo. Sería un recorrido agradable en otras circunstancias. Si la ciudad estuviera hecha para los habitantes; si fueran amigables las banquetas, los alumbrados públicos, la seguridad en algunos tramos. Sí, sería muy lindo, si los conductores no saltaran los semáforos y tuviéramos que esperar el rojo y unos instantes antes de cruzar las calles.

Estas ciudades nuestras están hechas para los vehículos, para que circulen a alta velocidad, mientras los peatones buscan donde poner el pie o la zona menos oscura.

Si las ciudades educan con su ejemplo, con sus vialidades, con sus licencias, la nuestra no alienta el optimismo.

    1. Everything is business. They don’t care about ending hunger , they win more campaigning than doing a good and functional project.
    2. We live in a country where most conforms to hear good news, no matter what really is happening. They like to live with eyes closed
    3. I train every day. My workouts end at 9pm . It is difficult to get to my house . At that time the buses run out. I would like to walk, but there’s not much light or people at that time.
    4. The city is created for taxis and vehicles

    1.- Every Time is about poverty and that they are going to take the better choices for mexico, but for me are just only words.
    2.- The government it is fail, all the time that i see biggest and good changes for we, are in the final of his government.
    3.- The construction of the city is very bad everything is centered about money, for example instead of putting good roads each year are always fixing these.
    4.- This government is the most dangerous for we the people, many government officials are in government because they have friends in these.
    5.- The poverty isn’t end if we don’t have real changes where realy needed.

    2. He thinks the campaign against poverty is serious.
    3. He thinks that the Red Cross does not win battles, only serves the injureds

    1.- The tv programing in Mexico is the worst only commercials and bad programs it´s for that is a waste of time.
    2.- The money they waste should put in campaning which atacks the poor in the contry.
    3.- The city is a place for the drivers only, we know about that accidents above cyclist and people walkers.
    4.- We´re used to insecurity, bad side walk and light in the street that´s should the priority in the political people ,the welfare at the citizen.

    1.-Blessed are the “poor in spirit” who know how to live with little, always trusting in God.
    2.-it is better to spend more on food for the needy in advertising

    1.-The tv in Mexico is a habit to watch telenovelas,soccer and others things and mexican people need to change this habit
    2.-The poverty is not going to change if we don’t change our bad habits, and if the gobernment don’t something is not goign to change.
    3.-When rarely I wath tv, I always see commercials about the politic party and always the same promises.
    4.-If Mexican people really want to change, have to improve their education and end their bad habits
