LA UNIVERSIDAD ES UN DERECHO

rinesiConocí a Eduardo Francisco Rinesi en abril de 2013, en la Universidad Nacional de Córdoba (UNC). Asistió como uno de los ponentes principales del “1º Seminario Democratización de la Educación Superior. Una mirada desde el Mercosur”, organizado por el Ministerio argentino de Educación, el Mercosur y la UNC, como parte de los 400 eventos organizados durante 400 días, para celebrar el cuarto centenario de la primera universidad argentina.

Su presencia, como rector de la Universidad Nacional de General Sarmiento (ubicada en Los Polvorines, Gran Buenos Aires), al lado de otros académicos argentinos y conosureños, como Daniel Mato, Diego Tatián y la ex rectora cordobesa Carolina Scotto, fue una bocanada de viento inquietante para un recién llegado de las cómodas aguas colimotas.

En México, donde las agendas en las universidades estatales están más orientadas por otros temas, lo que se discutió allí me resultaba novedoso (además de urgente): sentidos de la universidad en la construcción de nuevas ciudadanías, políticas de inclusión en la educación superior o transformaciones institucionales para la inclusión en la educación superior. Rinesi fue uno de los mejores ponentes que escuché.

La universidad es un derecho

En una entrevista para “Página 12” a mitad de 2015, Eduardo Rinesi respondió varias preguntas sobre sus ideas de la universidad. La postura es firme y los conceptos valen la pena como provocaciones para la reflexión.

Por principio, sostiene que la universidad es un derecho: “No es verdad que una institución que después de recibir a cien alumnos produce diez excelentes graduados, sea una universidad de excelencia. Es una universidad mala, porque no ha estado a la altura de garantizarles a todos el derecho a la educación… Una universidad no es de verdad una universidad para todos si no es para todos de la más alta calidad. Si no, es un engaño”.

El problema no es simple. La universidad, desde su origen, no se pensó para un cometido semejante, siquiera próximo; era una fábrica de élites.

Sostener el derecho a la universidad admite dos interpretaciones, afirma el filósofo: como derecho de los sujetos, individualmente, o como derecho del pueblo en tanto sujeto colectivo, para beneficiarse de sus saberes. Como derecho individual significa “el derecho a tratar de entrar y entrar, a tratar de aprender y aprender, a romperse el alma estudiando y avanzar en sus estudios, a terminarlos en un plazo razonable”.

El otro tema al que la nota dedica espacio es a los profesores y la investigación. Sus conceptos son también contundentes: “Valoro mucho la investigación universitaria, por supuesto, ahora lo que sí me parece inaceptable es que en nombre de la importancia de la investigación nos hayamos acostumbrado a suponer que la parte de la docencia de nuestra vida universitaria es una parte mala, degradada”.

Contra esas concepciones y prácticas que alentaron la docencia en posgrado o a grupos reducidos por parte de los docentes más calificados, Rinesi arremete: “Tenemos que ser capaces de generar los estímulos morales, políticos y, si es necesario, materiales para que los colegas en los que el Estado argentino gastó mucho dinero para calificar den a esos estudiantes (de cursos iniciales) las mejores clases que puedan dar en lugar de suponer que ese es un favor que les hacen de tanto en tanto… mientras ellos continúan su loca carrerita hacia la nada”.

Los párrafos que entrecomillo los suscribo sin duda ni dilación.

    Interesante en cuanto a la función de la universidad. A veces siento que tiene un enfoque elitista y falla en su propósito central de democratizar el acceso al conociemiento.

    1-. Estamos acostumbrados ver a la “Universidad”, con un enfoque: la universidad esta hecho para gente “Inteligentes”.

    2-. Nos debemos de permitir creer que si somos malos estudiantes, apesar del estudio intensivo y las practicas, es por la falta de voltundar por parte de la educacion impartida.

    3-. Pienso que debe de haber una participacion por parte del docente, meramente personal hacia el alumno.

    4-. El estado no hace un favor al estudiante para mejorar, debe de generar estimulos de cualquier ambito para el desarrollo y participacion del estudiante.

    1. I don’t understand why do the professors think that they are only becouse just 3 people can approve their assignments.

    1- How say the paragraph two in the section of “La universidad” many people say that the university is a big maker of talents, but not beacause doesn’t guarantees you the education.
    2- I like the phrase that say “Una universidad no es de verdad una universidad para todos si no es para todos de la más alta calidad. Si no, es un engaño” because is true, all haven’t the same opportunity.
    3- I understand that the university have the responsability of change.
    4- The university never thought in the students, they not were taken the nuisance.

    2.-Many times the University is seen as only for ‘intelligent’ people but in reality anyone who find it is what excites you can enter it

    2.- It’s sad that the main objective of most of the universities here in Mexico is just to have a couple of graduated
    3.- I think that all the teachers in general need to be more communicative for their students

    1. think that the education not only is for those who have resources, think that it is a right of everything to be a human being to learn.
    2. The participation is interesting of rinesi, there is called me the attention very much his philosophy of which the university must be a right for the pupil.
    3. We as pupils must take advantage to the maximum of this right that giving this one to us.
    4. Also I think that the teachers put much of his part in order that we as pupils to motivate ourselves.

    1.- The students arent bad students, they only need a path to forward
    2.- The elitism ts a real deal for the students to aproach, its a factor in his education
    3.- The universities are for people that want to learn something that can gives to they a better future, a good job to execute.
    4.- Also the money or religion arent a way to racism in the schools
