CHESPIRITO Y YO

Chespirito-Diego-Maradona-Florinda-EFE_CLAIMA20141128_0333_27Sería un exceso de arrogancia jactarme de que no vi a Chespirito, que no reí muchas veces con alguno de sus múltiples personajes, o en la película “El chanfle”. Por supuesto que lo hice.

En casa familiar teníamos una televisión común y las opciones eran escasas. Cuando viví en el Distrito Federal, a principios de los años noventa, en la casa de huéspedes de la colonia Narvarte no tenía televisión, pero me refugiaba con frecuencia en el cuarto de mi viejo amigo Pedro de Alba y allí, él, conectado a su tanque de oxígeno, pasaba las horas mirando su pequeño aparato blanco y negro; por las noches, cuando tomábamos café o una cerveza caliente (porque entraba a mediodía de contrabando), solíamos ver también al Chavo del ocho.

Todo eso es verdad, aunque nunca fue un personaje entrañable como lo es para millones de personas. Tampoco valoraba su ingenio y ocasionalmente habré sido despectivo con sus personajes, pero descubrir el enorme respeto y cariño que le profesan en Argentina y Chile me cambió la perspectiva en años más recientes. Roberto Gómez Bolaños apareció invariablemente en diálogos con colegas universitarios, con taxistas o meseros. Al reconocer o saber de mi nacionalidad, saltaban referencias cariñosas al Chavo del Ocho, el Chapulín colorado o sus otros personajes. Y siempre con expresiones muy elogiosas. Fue, es un personaje que vieron abuelos, padres, hijos y siguen disfrutando los nietos, porque siguen repitiendo capítulos de aquellos programas.

En ambos paĂ­ses fue habitual encontrar camisas impresas con las caras de Don RamĂłn y la CH encerrada por el corazĂłn del ChapulĂ­n. Las vi en puestos de ropa en la calle y en la espalda de chilenos y argentinos. Hasta me resultaba familiar en aquellos pagos, lo confieso.

He escuchado a quienes sostienen que la imagen difundida de los mexicanos era poco halagüeña, pero nunca sentí que me trataran como el bobo ingenuo que representaba el Chavo del Ocho, ni que me juzgaran chiflado solo por ser mexicano. Y qué pensar cuando personas tan polémicas, críticas y poco complacientes como Diego Armando Maradona le prodigan enorme cariño, confiesan haber reído con él y lo consideran su ídolo.

Ahora con su muerte no siento un dolor personal, o que me arrancaron una parte, pero sí me parece un exceso de mal gusto que alguien escriba en tuiter insultos pocas horas después de muerto, acusándolo de imbécil o propagandista en su tiempo de políticos entonces y ahora impresentables. Ese gesto poco valiente sí me parece una imbecilidad, una respetable pero abusiva imbecilidad.

    4. Although some people weren’t fans of Roberto’s work, that’s not an excuse for make such declarations after his recent death without respecting him.

    When I was a kid, I didn’t see “El Chavo del 8” because it bored me.
    I liked more the cartoons than programs like “El chavo del 8”.
    But when I was 14 years old, I started to see it because my Dad recommended me.
    I really liked a lot when I saw it and Chavo made me laugh a lot.

    This lost was a very bad new.
    Chespirito was a excelent comedy.
    Roberto Gomez Bolaños had a lot of character.
