LOS IDIOTAS

Aprovechando el asueto, esta mañana salí temprano a caminar a la unidad deportiva de la ciudad. Una hora, calculé, o hasta que el cuerpo aguante. Lo que suceda primero. Después de un tiempo sin hacerlo, no imaginaba la proporción del esfuerzo por delante. En los audífonos elegí “Calle 13”.

Cuando escuché la canción “Los idiotas”, decidí que ese sería el breve tema de esta página.

Con el coro, el ánimo de corredor de ocasión subió de tono:

Un idiota es aquel 


que no aprende 


del pasado. 


Un desinformado 


que no escucha 


al informado. 


Un idiota 


por debajo del nivel, 


un idiota es 


el que cree que 


todos son idiotas, 


menos él.

Empecé a glosar la canción, casi tarareándola. Hice un listado de los idiotas que conozco, de los simpáticos, de los sangrones, de los aburridos. Me pregunté: ¿en cuántas listas de este tipo estaré incluido?

Recordé la conversación muy interesante de hace algunos años con un joven pero experimentado político colimote, cuyo nombre no me da la gana confesar, que me explico, palabras más palabras menos, lo que desde entonces tengo como regla de oro: un político de segunda, me dijo, va a rodearse de otro de tercera o cuarta; uno de primera, buscará gente de primera o superiores. Así de simple.

Sí, así lo creo. Tengo un esbozo de teoría pero tampoco me da la gana confesarlo, lo que sí quiero contar es que ahora, cada vez que quiero aproximarme al conocimiento de un político o gobernante, una autoridad educativa, busco a la gente que le rodea, a la que escucha, la que lo asesora, lo orienta, corrige (y detiene, cuando es preciso).

Casi nunca me equivoco; no porque sea la antítesis de la idiotez, sino porque la fórmula en el campo político mexicano es infalible.

 Mantener a la gente inteligente 


abajo, sin crecer 


es la regla más importante 


de un idiota con poder. 


Pero, sería una idiotez 


tomarse la vida de manera seria: 


hacen falta los idiotas 


pa’ que exista la comedia 


y poder burlarse de ellos 


y también de uno mismo; 


ser idiota no está mal 


si lo ves con optimismo.
