VIVIR LA VIDA SIN VERLA

En Georges Perec y su libro Especie de espacio avanzo lento, sin saber dónde pondré el siguiente paso. Incertidumbre placentera.

Llego al subtítulo “Escaleras” y leo:

No pensamos demasiado en las escaleras.

Lo más bonito de las casas antiguas eran las escaleras. Y son lo más feo, lo más frío, lo más hostil, lo más mezquino de los edificios de hoy en día.

Deberíamos aprender a vivir mucho más en las escaleras. Pero ¿cómo?

La página posterior me deslumbra, o enceguece. Depende la perspectiva:

Cuelgo un cuadro en la pared. Enseguida me olvido de que allí hay una pared. Ya no sé lo que hay detrás de esa pared, ya no sé que hay una pared, ya no sé que esa pared es una pared, ya no sé qué es eso de una pared. Ya no sé que en mi apartamento hay paredes y que, si no hubiera paredes, no habría apartamento. La pared ya no es la que delimita y define el lugar en que vivo, lo que lo separa de los otros lugares donde viven los demás. Ya no es más que un soporte para el cuadro. Pero también me olvido del cuadro, ya no lo miro, ya no sé mirarlo. He colgado el cuadro en la pared para olvidar que allí había una pared pero, al olvidar la pared, me olvido también del cuadro.

Así, exactamente así me parece que muchas veces vamos por la vida. Olvidando lo esencial, lo valioso, lo que en el fondo da sentido a nuestra existencia. No contentamos con colgar cuadros para olvidar las paredes, las habitaciones, los habitantes, los sentimientos, la vida.
