Espiritualidad y política

EspiritualidadEl libro con el título de esta colaboración, Espiritualidad y política, coordinado por Cristóbal Cervantes, reúne un conjunto de capítulos escritos por hombres y mujeres de distintas formaciones y profesiones, que reflexionan en torno a los dos temas centrales, con un núcleo común de preocupaciones y convicciones, con ángulos singulares y aportaciones estimulantes.

Reseñar el libro publicado en España por Kairós no es mi pretensión, solo escribiré algunas líneas para compartirles tan grato hallazgo, posible gracias a la sugerencia de mi dilecto amigo, Juan Miguel Batalloso, un personaje ya habitual en las páginas que escribo.

El libro es encabezado por algunos autores de reconocimiento internacional y otros de menor visibilidad pero también atractivos; entre los primeros: Leonardo Boff, sacerdote y teólogo brasileño, fundador de la teología de la liberación, opción combatida férreamente por Joseph Ratzinger; Benjamín Forcano, teólogo español; el pensador norteamericano Ken Wilber y el ex director general de la UNESCO, Federico Mayor Zaragoza.

Es un texto provocador, sugerente, que ilumina zonas oscuras y pútridas de las sociedades contemporáneas, que denuncia y anuncia, que exhibe las miserias humanas producto del ejercicio de la política, y exalta las señales, tibias pero nítidas que se vislumbran en la construcción de una nueva espiritualidad, preludio de otra sociedad.

Es una denuncia de la vieja economía, que no sirve porque no es útil a las grandes mayorías, que se ejerce sin consideraciones éticas, culturales y sociales. En palabras de Jordi Pigem: la primera religión verdaderamente universal. Es una denuncia informada del bien-estar confundido con el mucho-tener. Denuncia y alerta de la sociedad riesgo, que lanzó una feroz ofensiva contra los más pobres, cada vez más empobrecidos, sobre todo cuando los políticos se envuelven en la bandera nacional para defender la patria, que no son los ciudadanos.

Denuncia de una sociedad en donde hombres y mujeres encuentra más satisfacción fuera de casa que en su hogar, que asola la macroeconomía y los hogares de todas las condiciones. Denuncia de un planeta depredado, que pone en riesgo la propia sobrevivencia de lo humano sobre la tierra.

Desde el crítico reconocimiento de esas enormes fauces abiertas contra la dignidad humana, los autores apelan a la necesidad de la coherencia; de replantear las propios términos política y espiritualidad, y convocan a un diálogo inaudito, inédito pero indispensable entre ambos términos. Sobre la coherencia, una virtud superior entre los políticos (y educadores), Antoni Gutiérrez-Rubí escribe en forma magistral: “La política debe recuperar la coherencia. El desgarro democrático entre la ciudadanía al ver como, una y otra vez, el equilibrio entre lo que se piensa, se dice y se hace se rompe en su cadena es –seguramente- una de las claves interpretativas de la frustración social y democrática. Hay que retomar la senda de la coherencia. Hay que hacer lo que se dice. Decir lo que se piensa. Pensar lo que se hace.”

El libro es también un anuncio, o mejor dicho, un crisol de anuncios; el recurso imaginativo y fundado en otro mundo posible, con una banca ética, con finanzas éticas, donde se articulen ámbitos que parecen (y aparecen) en las antípodas, como economía y espiritualidad. Es la postulación de la política como servicio, que para nuestros políticos equivaldría a experimentar la política como sacrificio. La exigencia de una economía de otro cariz, azul, en palabras de Gunter Pauli. De una sociedad que cambie los indicadores para medir el desarrollo y el crecimiento, del Producto Interno Bruto a un “índice de felicidad”, como ensayaron en Bután. Es la proclama de que es posible y necesaria una relación respetuosa entre los seres humanos y el planeta.

Necesitamos, dice Leonardo Boff, una revolución cultural y social guiada por tres principios universales: una vida digna para todas y todos, garantizando las necesidades básicas; una democracia real, participativa, transparente y justa, y la sostenibilidad en el respeto y cuidado de todo lo que nos rodea y de lo que formamos parte.

Esto y más contiene el espléndido volumen para ser leído con los ojos, reflexionado con la inteligencia y la emoción, convertido en una agenda para replantear la condición humana así como la forma en que cada uno la vive.

    I think it is a book worth reading.

    It not may be that the poor are now poorer.

    Is true, we need a revolution culture and social.

    These universal principles are quite good, dignified life, real democracy and sustainability.

    – Liberation theology? I don’t like too much that name, but if Joseph Ratzinger is against it, it sounds better.
    – I don’t believe in democracy, or it is because I’ve never looked a real one?
    – I’m still thinking that we’ll never see an utopy with an human goverment.

    It was led by authors internacinal recognition and other less visible but also interesting.

    Talk about a society that men and women like to be outside more than in the home.

    The book is a collection of ads.
